National Plant & Equipment Secures Major Sino Iron Contract, Creating 100+ Jobs in WA

National Plant & Equipment (NPE), part of National Group, has secured a significant contract with CITIC Pacific Mining at the Sino Iron Mine in Western Australia, with works already underway on site.

NPE will deliver wet hire and full maintenance support for a large-scale HME fleet, driving topsoil removal and construction of a major tailings storage facility (TSF) embankment, one of the largest of its kind in the region.

This multi-year project marks a significant step in NPE’s Western Australian growth, reinforcing its position as a trusted partner to tier-one mining operations.

Scaling Up for a Major Project

A Caterpillar D11 dozer sits secured on a National Heavy Haulage low-loader truck at a port, as workers prepare to load the oversized mining machine onto a cargo ship using heavy lifting equipment.

NPE has mobilised an ultra-class fleet of more than 45 HME and SME assets, including:

  • Hitachi EX5600 & EX3600 Excavators
  • Komatsu 830E & Caterpillar 793 Haul Trucks
  • Caterpillar D11 Dozers
  • Komatsu WA1200 Wheel Loaders
  • Caterpillar 24M Graders
  • Caterpillar 785C Water Carts

This mobilisation accentuates NPE’s capability to deploy and support large scale fleets for complex, high value mining operations without compromise. Additional equipment will be deployed as the project progresses.

“We’re building a high-quality team and looking for people who want more than just a job – they want to be part of something meaningful, with long-term stability and real opportunity to grow their career.”

“As a privately owned company, our people aren’t just a number. We invest in them, back them, and create pathways for progression.”

Delivering Capability at Scale

Managing Director Mark Ackroyd highlighted how the contract reinforces NPE’s position as a trusted partner for large scale mining operations.

“This is a testament to our fleet, our people, and the trust our clients place in us to deliver on critical projects,” Mr Ackroyd said.

“We will continue to invest in our people and equipment to support projects of this scale, and we’re proud to be working alongside CITIC Pacific Mining at Sino Iron.”

Strengthening Our Western Australian Presence

The Sino Iron contract further strengthens NPE’s footprint in Western Australia and reinforces its long-term strategy of delivering large-scale, high-performance equipment solutions to the country’s leading mining operations.

With works now firmly underway, machines currently operating on site and additional fleet mobilising, NPE is building real momentum and positioning the business for sustained growth.
